Our members gather from all over the Portland metro area to work, worship and play together here at Mission Of The Atonement. We were brought together via many different roads and we all have a story to tell. About 200 strong, we have many members who dedicate their lives or large amounts of time to good works. Young families, an active youth group, empty-nesters, and retired folks make up a vibrant and diverse group who support one another and learn and grow from each other's experience. We love Garrison Keillor's quote, "Where all the women are strong, all the men are good looking, and all the children are above average," and we like to think of ourselves that way (with humor, of course). We also work to stretch beyond the familiar and comfortable, identifying with the marginalized of society, welcoming the GLTB community and those who experience faith in different ways. Each one of God's children has something to learn and something to teach.
