Final Sunday of the month

The Final Sunday services began at Spirit of Grace as an opportunity for laypeople to have leadership in worship. Over 30 years later, Final Sunday services are still led by laypeople, and they feature a special topic each month and a second offering to raise money for local nonprofits. Instead of communion, we join each other for a potluck brunch during the community hour between services.

“We came on a final Sunday and the homily was given by a lay female leader. How cool!! We were warned that not all services were like that one, but it didn’t matter; we were hooked. We love that Spirit of Grace has radical, inclusive, comprehensive lay leadership with all aspects of social justice.”
